Women's Health and Well-Being

Women play a central role in our society: they are often the mainstays of their families, shouldering a large part of parental, family and social responsibilities at every stage of their lives.

Meeting women’s health and welfare needs is a core concern of the CISSS des Laurentides. If you or a loved one are having a difficult time, we suggest you consult this section.

Consultations

As an organization committed to the global health of its population, the CISSS des Laurentides understands the importance of recognizing and responding to the specific needs of women in our region.

With this in mind, consultations were held during the 2024-2025 winter to pinpoint the concerns and issues that impact women’s well-being. The sessions focused on gaining a better understanding of women’s needs at different stages of their lives and brought together various intersectoral and community partners. The resulting approach aims to ensure that the services provided to women by the CISSS des Laurentides are tailored to their needs, are delivered fairly and act as vectors of change.

Promoting equality in relationships

Sexual stereotypes can affect women’s mental and physical health, influence their career choices and impact their romantic relationships at every stage of their lives.

Promoting equality in relationships helps children and adults to cultivate bonds that are healthy and respectful, and contributes to developing their full potential. In the longer term, it helps to prevent sexual violence.
