Ostomy
An ostomy is a surgically created opening made into the abdomen for the purpose of eliminating waste materials (stool/urine) from the body. The patient will have to wear a collecting device (bag).
This can be temporary or permanent, depending on the patient’s clinical situation.
Types of ostomies
