Services are defined by the  /typo3conf/l10n/fr/rtehtmlarea/Resources/Private/Language/fr.locallang_accessibilityicons.xlf:external_link_new_window_altTextAct Respecting End-of-Life Care. It ensures that persons at the end of life can have access to quality care and support to suit their situation in the final stage of life, particularly by preventing and relieving suffering.

Palliative care and en-of-life care aim at reducing symptoms and maintaining physical and psychological comfort for people at the end of life, at home or at a residential resource.

Palliative care at home

CLSCs offer oncological palliative care to pre-terminally and terminally-ill patients who wish to remain at home for as long as possible.

Care offered:

  • Medical follow-up;
  • Nursing care;
  • Hygiene and comfort care;
  • Psychosocial support for the patient and their caregivers;
  • Respiratory therapy treatments.

Volunteers on some of our care teams also offer support to families.

Palliative care in a facility

Palliative care is also offered to pre-terminally and terminally-ill patients staying at residential centres, certain hospitals and palliative care facilities.

At all times, patients and their loved ones can count on listening, support and care from the teams in place. The goal is to alleviate suffering by offering a quality living environment and administering care with respect, love, compassion and tenderness.

Palliative care in a palliative care home

Depending on the person needs and wants, she might be guided towards an appropriate resource, namely a palliative care home in our region.
