Sociological background, identity disclosure and reunion support

The Director of Youth Protection provides support for children adopted in early childhood who want to search for their sociobiological background and for parents seeking information about a child entrusted for adoption in the Laurentians.

*Update*

On June 8, 2024, the provisions aimed at improving adopted children’s access to knowledge of their origins will come into force, in accordance with the Act respecting family law reform with regard to filiation and amendments to the Civil Code in relation to personality rights and civil status. Consequently, as of that date, new information and services concerning sociobiological background and reunion will be available. New applicants will also be eligible.
