Family medecine groups (FMGs) and U-FMGs

A family medicine group (FMG) is a group of family doctors working together and in close collaboration with other health and social service professionals, such as nurses and social workers.

A university family medicine group (U-FMG) is a family medicine group where family medicine residents, students and interns from various disciplines can receive training, do internships and be supervised. The teaching provided by U-FMGs is recognized by universities.

In addition to medical consultations, the FMG can offer meetings with different health professionals according to your needs (nurses, social workers, etc.). Certain services require a medical prescription: assessment of musculoskeletal problems, joint puncture or infiltration, CNESST follow-up, follow-up for pain, follow-up for traumatic brain injury. We also offer women’s health services: endometrial biopsy, menopause, pessary, contraception, Pap test, IUD insertion, minor surgery (abscess, stitches, biopsy, etc.).
