Intersectoral roundtables

The Laurentides Intersectoral Sexual Assault Committee (CIASL)

The Laurentides Intersectoral Sexual Assault Committee brings together more than seventy (70) members from about thirty community and institutional organizations and includes both the educational and political sectors. Meetings allow a sharing of expertise, knowledge and experience among the partners who share the same goal, the improvement of the services and the help provided to people in the region affected by sexual violence.

The CIASL website has information for practitioners, victims, loved ones and witnesses as well as for sexual aggressors about:

  • How to file a complaint.
  • Service trajectories in the event of a disclosure.
  • Sex education and prevention of sexual assault.

The CISSS des Laurentides is an integral member of this roundtable and its actions fall into the three main areas of the government’s strategic plan to counter sexual and domestic violence and rebuild confidence, Stratégie gouvernementale pour contrer la violence sexuelle, la violence conjugale et Rebâtir la confiance 2022-2027 (in French only):

  • Prevention, awareness and screening.
  • Psychosocial, medical, legal, police and penal intervention.
  • Development of knowledge, training and sharing of expertise.

Thanks to financial participation by the CISSS des Laurentides, the CIASL meets three to five times a year to set its priorities for action and to form subcommittees to carry them out.

Regional roundtable against trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation

This roundtable was established in 2019 to develop interventions to address this issue, present throughout the province including in our Laurentian region.

The roundtable, set up by the Director of Youth Protection and Le Phare des AffranchiEs /Beacon of the Freed, is made up of many actors from various departments at the CISSS des Laurentides and many community partners (police forces, community organizations, schools).

The committee brings together the various actors to collaborate in developing recognized intervention practices that are effective with victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation in the Laurentians.
